Here are some tips for a successful application!

 

>>Don’t rush. We will review all applications at the same time, once the March 15th deadline has passed. So take your time and put thought into your responses.

 

>>Do a rough draft. Nothing is perfect the first time. Type up your essay responses in a word processing program like Word or Google Docs. Ask for feedback from a teacher, parent or friend.

 

>>Use the spell check and read your sentences aloud. Do they make sense? Is a word missing?

 

>>Ask permission before listing your personal reference. Let them know about the program and why you want to participate. We will follow up with them via email to send them the online reference form.

 

>>Read the application through before beginning to fill it out. Take note of what information needs to be included. Gather the information into one place like a word document and then start to fill out the application. You can’t save your work in the online application.

 

>>Be creative, be yourself. We want to learn as much as we can about you and why you want to be a Wandering Scholar.
