The Wandering Scholar is an educational non-profit founded in 2009 to make international travel and learning opportunities accessible to low-income high school students. Simply put, our mission is to put the world within reach of all students, regardless of social and economic background.
The marketing and outreach intern will assist the directors in the promotion of The Wandering Scholar’s Global Skills Fellowship program to prospective applicants, donors and mentors. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented intern with a passion for travel and education, experience running engaging social media campaigns, and impeccable communication and writing skills.
Write, source and post content for The Wandering Scholar website, blog, and social media outlets
Develop and implement recruitment strategy for Summer 2017 educational programs.
Assist with fundraising initiatives and event planning
Answer inquiries from prospective Wandering Scholars and mentors.
A strong travel background.
An enthusiastic, organized self-starter.
Experience using social media for business, brand or organization.
Comfort using WordPress to update website content.
Access to personal laptop computer and reliable internet connection.
Ability to work remotely 15 hours a week.
