The Sunshine Fund was established in honor of Belynda and Charles Moore to pay tribute to their perseverance, pride, and enduring drive to succeed. The example they set instilled in their daughter Angela Moore a sense of tenacity and grit that has driven her throughout her life and career.

This annual scholarship is awarded to a Wandering Scholar who hails from the Southeastern US and demonstrates in an essay how they will cultivate an experience that gets them closer to their long-term goals. Those goals should align with one of the key pillars of the Wandering Scholar: 1) expanding their perspectives and ability to recognize those of others; 2) building their capacity for resilience and empathy; and 30 developing a roadmap for success beyond high school.
